Visiting Oregon:
They have a replica of the vessel that responds to emergences on the water that is very impressive, it can cut through the waves and even rolls over while in motion. They have hundreds of rescues yearly because of the private and inexperience captains on boats fishing and pleasure riding.
Another special outing was when the six of us went to breakfast at Camp 18. This is a popular logging camp and Restaurant that we always like to visit when we are in Oregon. They have added more to the museum of antique machinery used to harvest old growth wood and have added a memorial building in honor for those who lost their lives to this rough occupation .
As we traveled to our next RV Park at Seaside, Oregon we stopped by the Columbia River Maritime Museum. Here we viewed artifacts from ancient vessels and saw how difficult it was to work and travel in the Pacific North-West.
The Columbia River Bar is a very dangerous area to navigate because of the rushing water from the mouth of the Columbia River and the entrance of the Pacific Ocean. This requires a licensed specialized Pilot to accompany all ships when crossing the bar.

Tuesday evening we went to Cannon Beach, Deborah and Paul invited us for Paul's BBQ Ribs, Finger lick-en good! Deborah's home on the beach is so beautiful and they had preordered the most perfect weather for our visit there.
Wednesday we spent the day sightseeing around the area of Seaside and Cannon Beach. We walked the down town streets of shops, Art Glories and eatery's. We walk out on the beach to get up close to the Hay Stack Rock. The rock is comprised volcanic rock that was moved there by a glacier from Idaho.
