The Sea Lions Cave was in the same town as the Dunes so we visited that also. The tour started with stairs that lead us outside to an inclined pathway, then on to the elevator that took us 208 feet down to the caves. This cave began to form over 25 million years ago. The interior is the height of a 12- story building and stretches the full length of a football field. Great care has been taken to avoid disturbing these creatures or their habitat. Unfortunately they weren't home when we got there because the Salmon are running and they were out eating. It was cool to see the cave and out in the water just outside of it we did see a large whale.
Off to Crater Lake area tomorrow.
